Some areas close to wetlands do not allow solid parking lots such as asphalt and/or concrete. Stabilization on a gravel parking lot around wetlands requires many laters of different sized ballast rock. Sod, grass, and other non-compactable surfaces must be removed and disposed of along with wet direct, mud, etc. Large ballast rock is what supports the finished later of a gravel parking lot. This allows water to easily flow through the ground underneath without disturbing the finished product. When installed properly, the graveled parking surface can be an economical way to provide a large or small parking surface that requires little maintenance.
